Originally published between 1906-1918, this compilation spans over a decade of provocative issues ranging from anarchism to sexual freedom, militant labor struggles, birth control, liberatory education, Leon Czolgsoz’s assassination of President McKinley, anarchist-feminism, anti-militarism, art, literature and including contributions from Louise Berger,  Alexander Berkman, Margaret Sanger (back when she was an anarchist!), Tolstoy, Voltarine de Cleyre, Ricardo Flores Magon, Peter Kropotkin, Errico Malatesta, Rudolf Rocker and Elisee Reclus – to name a few!

In 1917, Mother Earth published an article denouncing the first World War and encouraging readers to not enlist in the draft. The article would lead to the Mother Earth offices being raided and Goldman deported from the US.
